Installation of Oracle XE Walkthrough

Oracle XE (express edition) is a free version of Oracle 10 that is available for different platforms.

It can be obtained from Oracles website, http://www.oracle.com or
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/xe/index.html

In this scenario, Oracle is installed on the same computer that is running Dynamic AI. In a usual business environment, this would rarely be the case. Refer to Oracle documentation for information on installing specific client or server versions of Oracle.

The installation is very straightforward. In this example, Oracle XE is installed on a Computer running Microsoft Windows Vista Business edition.
It was not necessary to change any of the installation program’s default values.

Running the Oracle XE installation wizard:

The SYS and SYSTEM database account password specified below is necessary to remember in order to log in to Oracle. Make sure you remember the password you set.

Installation has succeeded and you can login to Oracle to verify that your installation works:
