Password Reset

Postby cjbates » Wed Dec 12, 2012 2:55 pm

Hi Bob,

Is there someplace in the User setup table or system setup where I can control how/if users have to change their passwords? I need to turn off the requirement that users change their passwords. Thanks.

Hi Cynthia,
In Administration, under System / System
Image
The properties in the red box controls user password policy

Best regards

Bo

NOTE: Do not set the "Force SSL on" option here unless you have SSL enabled on the web server - it will immediately prevent access to the system :(

Hi Cynthia,

Look at: Administration / System / System / Security tab.

There you will find options for controlling password policies.

Please don't enter blank values -- enter 0 instead as appropriate.

For password duration enter a reasonable value, i.e. don't enter 999999999999999999999 days. In some older builds that caused a problem.

You can also force user to change their password or set a date range for access on the user profile account tab page. I think you need to enter those dates in yyyy-mm-dd format.

Regards,
Bob
