Hi Jacques,

The image files are located in the INT6\Images folder found under the Dynamic AI Server folder -- or whatever folder location you specified during the install.

I think you'll find the files are there and that it is a browser security setting that is blocking them from displaying. I've not encountered that but I do routinely get messages in IE from various web sites that some content is blocked and I have to click "allow" to have all content on the page displayed.

Regards,
Bob

On a default installation, images will be located in
c:\program files\dynamic ai server\int6\images
you should be able to find for instance
dynamic_ai_server.gif
and if you're on the server itself, browse it on
http://localhost/ai6/images/dynamic_ai_server.gif

Let us know the status

Hi,
I don't have a real server. It run on my workstation Windows 7 64 bits with IIS actived.
The images are well on "C:\Program Files (x86)\Dynamic AI Server\INT6\Images" and I don't think there were some lock on this directory.
As my purpose is to make some demonstration of the product, I need that the program is on a stand alone PC.

The link "http://localhost/ai6/images/dynamic_ai_server.gif" gives me a white screen.
The Dynamic AI Server Edition runs well on "http://localhost/ai6/default.asp"

I have put an image on C:\Program Files (x86)\Dynamic AI Server\INT6 and tried to open it on "http://localhost/ai6/image.jpg" but I had the same problem.
When I copied the image on this location, I was told that I must have the administrator rights to put the image on this directory.
When I check the rights, it seems that everybody can see the content of the directories.

I have heard that on Windows 7 it was not a good idea to put certain programs on c:\program files. I could try to re-install DAI on c:\DAI for exemple. Tell me if it's a good idea.

Jacques,

On my Win7/64 pro laptop I accepted the default install locations -- but at real-world deployments I have installed to a shared folder on a different volume from where all the Windows system stuff resides. As a rule on a server, I like keeping a volume dedicated for the operating system and do not like installing anything there.

So the answer is yes, I personally think it is a good idea to install to a different location -- but it should make no difference. It makes no sense to me that Dynamic AI can run -- meaning it is able to read files in the INT6 folder -- but not the images in the images sub-folder. Therefore I still think it is a browser security issue. Have you checked your IE8 Browser options settings?

Bob,

I have desinstalled DAI server and reinstalled it on another directory. It gives me the same problem, like you told me.
When I copy an image in this directory, I don't receive a message that I need to be administrator to put the image in this location like it was the case when DAI was in the program files but I cannot see the images when I click on "http://localhost/ai6/images/dynamic_ai_server.gif" I don't have any error message but the screen is blank.

I have the personal edition installed. If I type "http://localhost:81/images/black_32.gif" I have the image on the screen !!!

I have checked the options of IE8 and I didn't find anything. I have the same problem with other browser like "google chrome"

I have desactived the firewall but the problem remains

For the moment I have also some problems with the layout of the application too. Those problem are perhaps linked. If the program cannot go to some directories, it won't find the styles neather.

Jacques,

I'm really sorry you're experiencing these problems, but I have to say you've got me stumped. Clearly it is a rights issue -- but I don't know why its happening.

Bo has more expertise than I on operating system / environment issues.

I can enter this in my browser and it works: http://localhost/ai6/images/dynamicailogo.gif.Why do you include ':81' in the URL? I'm running Win7/64 pro but using IE 9.08.

As much trouble as it may seem to have to resort to -- the quickest resolution may be to use Process Monitor from Sysinternals to capture what is getting blocked when attempting to open one of these graphic files. If I understand correctly -- you cannot even open them using Windows Explorer?. It should be fairly simple to capture just the calls to registry and files during the attempt to open the image in your browser and then search results for failure or access denies, etc.

Another suggestion: try changing the "connect as" setting on the site to specific user and make it your user name. You shouldn't have to do this, but since it feels like a rights problem ...

The URL addres of DAI personal edition is http://localhost:81
The URL addres of DAI server is http://localhost/ai6

I see all images in personal edition but not in server edition.
I have tested different navigator : IE8, Google chrome, Mozilla Firefox and I have the same problem with all.

It seems that the program find the file but cannot open it. (I can open then in Windows explorer) The error message in firefox showed "I cannot open the image because this contains errors" I have tried with .jpg, .gif, .pdf but none of them could be opened.

I have put the setting "connect as" to my name. The tested the parameters and they were OK.

The problem is still there. I don't see the images

Hi,

We have found the problem.

After having sent the copy of my screens to Eddy, he found that it was a problem of my IIS installation.
I deinstalled IIS and reinstalled it with the maximum of components checked.

Now I have the screens as they must be.
I don't know which component was necessary to have this feature.
