Rules Tab on Dashboard

Postby jason.roznovsky » Tue Jul 26, 2011 7:58 pm

When I go to the design of a dashboard, I am not seeing a Rules tab. How do I go about getting that option? In the Help, it shows that the dashboard should have this option (see below)

Hi Jason,

The "rules" tab page is not applicable or available in "report packages". It is applicable and available in a "Page". The documentation and other literature sometimes applies the generic word "dashboard" to both. The big advantage of a report package over a "static" page, is that filters in the first report, when common to other reports in the packagte, are automatically applied to those reports.

I do not have an option for Page. Which version on Dynamic AI are you on?

I am using the server edition, version 6.4 build 42 -- but I don't recall ever not seeing the option for "page", and I started with version 6.3.

The security settings in Dynamic AI are comprehensive, and quite granular, so check to be sure the right to add new pages, and URL pages, is checked for your user account.

The Page option really only makes sense with Free Form layout - as that is only an IE option - the reason that Page doesn't show up might be because the browser isn't IE.??

Best regards,
Carsten
