adding +columns from different database

Hello,

is it possible to compare data from different databases, by adding extra columns into a report, that come from another database? We're working with oracle databases, mainly.
What I tried is joining two databases, that are the same in structure, via a dynamic relation. That way I can link data in a form, by setting them next to each other.
What I would like to achieve is a comparison of all rows, and just showing the ones, that are not the same on both databases. Is there a way you can suggest?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Daniela Fischer

Hi Daniela,

In the more recent releases of Dynamic AI there is a Package compare feature.

1. Create 2 detail listing reports with the columns you want to compare
2. mark the 2 reports using the checkboxes next to the reportnames in the menu and create a new package
3. Enter Design (using the tools menu)
4. Check "Compare reports" (optionally decide whether you want to see the difference as HTML, CSV or XML

you'll get:

Hi Carsten,

thanks a lot for your quick reply.
What you described sounds like the perfect solution for me!
We use DAI release 6.4.15. What release supplies the compare package and where would I find it?

Best regards,

Daniela

Hi Daniela,

You'll find it as an option on the "Package", "General" Tab:
