I'm a bit puzzled by the various uses of date formats within DAI. I've found that I can group my date fields (which are actually timestamps) on the 'List' tab using the automatically provided options (as shown below) without any problems.

However, only the default 'DATE' format available on the 'List options' tab works against my Ingres database. Selecting any other format, such as DDMMYYYY, produces a database error like the following.

Is this to be expected? Are the formats provided only suitable for certain databases? Do they require ANSI data format within the target database? Is this possibly an Ingres specific error? Any advice appreciated.
