Long Edit List Jumps on edit

Here's a rather minor, but slightly annoying navigational/refresh behavior.

Here's a list longer than the screen. I have clicked on the "AI N/A" row/column and am ready to press the space bar.

I press the space bar. The list refreshes and repositions and now I must slide back up to the top to get back to where I left off.

One might argue I should apply a filter to shorten the list. When I do that and the list does not have the vertical slider present, it does not jump. The only lists I edit are the dictionary lists since my data connection is read only, so I don't know if this applies to all lists.

Hi Bob,

This would apply to all list edit listings where the content is longer than the screen and where updating check-boxes using space-bar. The problem is that the space-bar event isn't cancelled after checking the checkbox - resulting in the browser making it's default behavior for Space-bar - which in the case of IE is to jump 1 page down.

The work-around (to avoid it jumping) in those situations is to double-click on the check-box to toggle between checked and unchecked.
